Howard Lee Wimmer, 88 of Springfield was born on July 16, 1925 in Springfield to Pearl Shortt and Lewis Wimmer. He passed away on September 16, 2013 quietly at his home.

He was a do it yourself person, very independent, had a keen eye for detail, was a dedicated 3rd generation bee keeper for 40 years and enjoyed Missouri archeology and arrowhead collecting. He was a member of the Ozarks bee keepers association and for 60 years he was a member of the sheet metal workers local 36 international association and a World War II Navy Veteran.

Howard is survived by his 2 sons, Randy Wimmer, B. Mike Wimmer and wife Tonya; additional children, Lora Neill and Sherri Case; brother, Bob Wimmer and wife Jewel; sister, Reba Whittington of Anaheim, CA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James "Jim" Wimmer and Dale E. Wimmer; brother-in-law, Jessie Whittington; daughter, Sheila McCullough and son, Allen D. Wimmer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm at the Eastlawn Funeral Home, 2244 E Pythian, Springfield, MO. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Eastlawn Cemetery.
