Charles M. Peck Sr., 86, of Willard, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Embree, MO on 29 July 1925 to John Peck and Maudie Wade, who have preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is his wife of 45 years, Frances (Doty) Peck; seven siblings, Vietta Newman, Mavice Shipman, Ruby Haley, Raymond, Eunice, Martha Roach, and Ralph, and great granddaughter, Sierra Collins.
Charles started his career in Springfield working for Mounds Poultry Farm, later he became a well known Water Well Driller in Springfield and the surrounding areas. Both sons have helped him drill wells at different times. After retiring from drilling, he worked as a carpenter. He and his son, Charles Jr., helped build two local business buildings and one in another state.
Surviving him are one sister, Thena Dampier and her husband Bob of Lebanon; two sons: Charles Jr. and wife Jennifer of Yelm, Washington; Steven and wife Tina of Willard; three daughters: Carolyn Guthrie, Patricia Hoffpauir and husband Ray of Springfield, and Debra Norton of Stanfordville, New York; 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 1, 2012.
